Wool is so popular because it is the MOST breathable natural fiber for baby to wear. It is useful over cloth nappies because moisture from within the nappy is evaporated through the wool fibers. This in turn helps to keep baby drier, which is obviously more comfy for bub. When 'lanolized' any urine in the wool fabric is neutralized as it evaporates. So, I guess you can say in a way that this cover is self-cleaning!

Wool covers are great for night wear, when the nappy is on for much longer than during the day. If your baby sleeps all night, there is no need to change the nappy if he/she hasn't dirtied it. Wet nappies are fine....as long as it has the appropriate absorbency to last the night. Wool covers are a good night option as they will help keep the night nappy drier as that moisture is evaporated.
